Firefighters fought a fire in the center of a seaside resort for hours. North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to a fire at a building on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay shortly before 7pm last night.
Police and fire brigade attended the incident and the main road was closed to traffic. Six fire engines attended, including both engines from Colwyn Bay and Llandudno.
They were accompanied by the aerial work platform and an incident control unit. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, hose reels and a main line to tackle the fire, supported by thermal imaging cameras.
They warned people to stay away from the Pavilion pub as they battled the fire.

Crews were on scene fighting the fire for more than five hours before the shutdown occurred just before midnight. There were no casualties.
More details about the extent of the damage and the possible cause are expected to be announced later today.
